Belfast Christmas Market

One of Northern Ireland’s most popular festive events, the Belfast Christmas Market was first operated by Market Place in 2004 when Belfast City Council asked Market Place to run a pilot event that hosted 28 stalls in the gardens of the Belfast City Hall. Twenty years later, Market Place are still successfully operating the event, which has grown substantially in size and popularity over the years.

Market Place are responsible for designing, installing and operating the Belfast Christmas Market over a five week duration. The Christmas Market now hosts over 100 stalls, 2 bars, and various activities such as a vintage carousel, Santa’s grotto and Helter Skelter.

Attracting over 1 million visitors each year, Belfast Christmas Market is one of the most diverse markets in the UK, with its traders representing up to 30 nationalities from across the globe.
