Market introduction

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 will be one of the largest cultural and music events ever hosted in Northern Ireland, bringing the world’s biggest celebration of Irish traditional music, culture and language to Belfast for the first time.

Taking place across the city in August 2026, the Fleadh is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from across Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America for a week-long programme of traditional music competitions, concerts, street performances, céilís, workshops, food and cultural events.

Centred around Belfast city centre and key cultural venues, the event will transform the city into a large-scale festival environment with extensive outdoor programming, hospitality, family activities and live entertainment throughout the day and evening.

The event is being led by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in partnership with Belfast City Council and is anticipated to deliver major economic and tourism benefits to the city alongside significant national and international media coverage.
